My Visit To The Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside

The Fox Performing Arts Center is based in downtown Riverside, California. It was built in 1920, and it is also known as The Riverside Fox Theater. The historic building itself is based upon the Spanish Colonial Revival style architecture, but it received an extensive remodeling in 2009 as part of a downtown Riverside project to revitalize the entire area. The theater now has modern facilities that have resulted in a larger stage, new 1,600 comfy seat capacity and new lighting, but it has kept the aesthetics from the 1920s. There is ample and convenient parking to attend the theater that can be found on the northwest corner of Mission Inn Avenue and Market Street along with several private garage lots around the area. The theater has a long history with the movie industry and gained its initial fame by being the first theater to show Gone with the Wind. To this day it offers movie showings with the added benefit of a world-class menu and drinks, along with after screening events that include music and themed after-parties.

For regularly announced events the box office is open Tuesday through Friday from midday to six in the evening and on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
