Riverside Heritage House is a historic house museum and an educational facility in the city of Riverside. It is located at 8193 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, CA 92504. First off, let’s get this out of the way. If you’re a first-time visitor to Riverside Heritage House, you’re in for a real treat! This is a historic house that was built in 1892. There are still a few original features left, like the original walnut door panels and a hand-painted ceiling in the master bedroom. Every room in the house is unique, especially the kitchen and the baths. If you love the craftsmanship and detail that went into building this house, you won’t be disappointed.

The downstairs hosts the house’s most popular exhibit, The Olmsted Brothers’ Design for Downtown Riverside. Here, you’ll find a timeline of Olmsted’s life in Riverside, as well as plans and blueprints for the house, apartments, and grounds. Upstairs, you’ll find the rest of the house’s fine décor. The master bedroom features ornate, hand-painted wallpaper and an antique four-poster bed. The bathroom has a hand-painted toilet and hand-rubbed tub. There’s also a wine cellar with a variety of wines to choose from by the glass.

There are so many exhibits at Riverside Heritage House that it can be hard to choose just one to focus on.
